Obituary for Douglas Lee Henehan

Douglas Lee Henehan, 60, of La Porte, Texas, passed away on the evening of Saturday, March 4, 2019.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, to John Jerald and Lois Jeanette (Tompkins) Henehan, he was the third of four children. After graduating from Grandview High School in Grandview, Missouri, he worked for a local survey company in the Kansas City area before relocating to Houston, Texas. Shortly after his move, he met and married Carole Jane Francis on February 5, 1982. Doug always said that he prayed to be surrounded by beautiful women, and his prayers were answered, because he and Carole welcomed four daughters, Mary Kathleen, Sara Elizabeth, Rebekah Lynn, and Erin Colleen. He took pride in his work as a Head Operator in the power industry, spending almost his entire career at the Shell Deer Park Manufacturing Complex. Doug and Carole’s life together saw many different zip codes, including homes in Mississippi and Arizona, but Houston was always their home, and they returned to the area in May of 2011. Doug’s life was grounded in his faith in Jesus Christ, and he became the hands and feet of his Savior when he served as a deacon, member of the praise team, bible study teacher, and many other service positions within the churches he attended. This devotion to his faith is a legacy that was instilled in his children.

He is preceded in death by his father, affectionately known as “Big Jerry”. Left to cherish his memories are: his mother, Lois Henehan; brother, Phillip Jerald Henehan and wife, Mary; brother, Gregory Duncan Henehan; sister, Suzanne Lynn Douglas and husband, Dennis; wife, Carole Jane Henehan; daughter Mary Kathleen Roy, husband David Anthony, children Adrian Patrick and Evelyn Louise; daughter, Sara Elizabeth Morea, husband Jared Thomas, children Ava Lynn and Deegan Lee; daughter, Rebekah Lynn Henehan; daughter, Erin Colleen Henehan; step-son, Barrett Royce Lee, wife Felicia, and sons Tyler and Tristan; along with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
