Wanell Phipps Hewett was born November 16, 1939 to William Tivas and Thelma Ferguson Phipps. She grew up in Monahans, TX and attended Monahans High School. On March 4, 1961 she married Everette Hewett in Monahans, TX. They celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2021.

Wanell and Everette moved from Monahans, TX to Victoria, TX in 1963. They moved back to Monahans in 1980, to Odessa, TX in 1994, to Wortham, TX in 1997 and to La Porte, TX in 2018 to be near their daughter, Pamala Phillips.

Wanell was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. She worked at a donut shop in Monahans in the 1990’s. Wanell supported Everette in his many jobs and pastorates. She loved people and made friends easily. She enjoyed playing Domino’s, card games and board games with her family and friends.

Wanell and Everette loved God and walked with Him their whole marriage. To tell their story is to tell of God’s grace, provision, and work in the world.
