Obituary for Robert Skelton

Robert “Rob” Wayne Skelton was born in Pasadena, Texas to Carletta Gould and has five siblings: Aimee and Justin Skelton, Eddie and Ryan Bertand, and Mia Gould.
As a teen, Rob lived in Ohio while attending the University of Ohio. It was at this time he moved back to New Ulm to be with and take care of his beloved grandmother, Nana, while she fought cancer. During this time Rob was working as a waiter in Brenham, Texas where he met lifelong friends like Jesse, and his future wife Kelly. When Robert was not devoting his time to taking care of his grandmother or working he enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved live music and attended lots of concerts, loved skateboarding and still road until the day of his passing and was always up to just fun “shenanigans.”
In 2000 Rob moved to Austin where he worked played and eventually made a family. The moment his daughter was born, Robert changed and lived for his family. At many times working two jobs to support them. he also found time to be super dad to his two children. He was their hero.
His most memorable and cherished jobs in his adult life was working home health and for a nursing home in North Austin when his kids were little. He took much pride in taking care of the elderly and they loved him and his children. Clients would send birthday and Christmas cards and still do.
From there he was a long term health attendant for Sean Pevsner until Rob moved to Houston, Texas.
Robert was always a lover of life, music, cracking jokes about the silliest things and more than anything a proud AA sponsor and father. The last year of his life will forever be cherished by his loved ones. He rebuilt relationships with his children, family and friends. He left this world a proud father taking his daughter to a “cheesy” concert where he sang all the words to the songs. He and his son Cooper would exchange silly memes and always talked sports- everything from Astros, Texans or the Ohio Buckeyes
Robert helped countless addicts and alcoholics gain and maintain their sobriety. He always worked in home health fields. He was always a selfless person.
