Obituary for Joyce Joanne Acosta

Joyce (Marchman) Horn Acosta passed away peacefully and went to her final resting place on January 7, 2022.
Joyce was born on August 30, 1934 in Hawkinsville, Georgia to David Frank Marchman and Essie Naomi Renfroe.

Shortly after graduating from Hawkinsville High in 1953 she met and married Bill Horn. They moved to Borger, Texas and started their family. A job transfer (Phillips Petroleum) moved them to Pasadena, Texas where Joyce has lived ever since. She raised her three daughters and watched them raise their families in the area. Joyce retired from HISD where she was an associate clerk in the Department of Research and Accountability. In her younger days, Joyce loved dancing, fishing and shopping. Her love for shopping continued to grow with each and every QVC box she received!

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, David F. and Essie N. Marchman, her sisters, Katy Graves, Betty Marchman, and Margaret Cain, daughter Robbie Jo Bottorff, and grandson Lathan Horn.

Joyce is survived by her daughters Cheri Lopez, and Lisa Knight (Phil), grandchildren Erick Lopez (Becky), Susan Contreras (Gila), Selena Lopez (Andy Chavez), Sammy Seymour (Karen), Kyle Seymour (Lindsey), Amber Ramirez (Tim Alvarez), Andria Horn, and Josh Roades (Christi), and 25 great grandchildren. At Joyce’s request, there will be no public event, just a family gathering at a later date to celebrate her life. She will definitely be missed, but not forgotten.
