Obituary for Mary Ann Passons

Mary Ann Cutrer was born July 5, 1941 in Baton Rouge, LA to James Virgil and Mary Mennee Cutrer. She grew up in a loving and busy household with seven siblings. Mary Ann graduated from Baker High School in 1959, the same year she met her future husband, Delma Passons. They were married October 14, 1960 at Weller Avenue Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. Mary Ann and Delma welcomed two daughters before relocating to Deer Park, TX in 1965 when Delma took a job at Ethyl Corp. Together they truly enjoyed raising their family. Mary Ann loved spending time outdoors, whether it was gardening at home or being at their family cabin. One of her favorite past times was going antique shopping, treasure hunting for tea pots, china cups, and bird collectibles. Most of all, Mary Ann loved being at home with her family, raising her daughters and then caring for her three grandchildren.

Mary Ann passed peacefully at home on Sunday, October 9, 2022. She is preceded by her parents and two brothers, James Cutrer and Ronald Cutrer. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Delma Carroll Passons; her daughters, Betty June Herod and husband David Russell Herod, and Brenda Carol Peña and husband Ernest Peña Jr. She also is survived by her siblings, Gerald Cutrer, Robert Cutrer, Wallace Cutrer, Beverly Turner, and Addie Julia (Judy) Hoover. She leaves a legacy for her grandchildren; Sheena Ann Hill and husband Steven William Hill, Meagan Jessica Bussey and husband Jake Calvin Bussey, Caleb Passons Reid, and her great-grandchildren; Reid William Hill, Roarke Steven Hill, Reagan Ann Hill, Levi Thomas Bussey, and Aubrey June Bussey.
