Obituary for Marilyn Doughty

Marilyn Kay Walker Doughty (DeeDee) was born September 26, 1964 in Shreveport, LA to Horace Waters and Iline Clark. The family moved from Louisiana to Texas when she was a child. DeeDee attended La Porte High School. As she became an adult she took great pride in caring for not only her own children, but her nieces and nephews as well. As her children grew, she always had room in her house and especially her heart for her grandkids.

She loved watching the gospel channel, specifically Bishop TD Jakes and Creflo Dollar. She found great joy in caring for her grandkids, nieces and nephews. On her free time she went to the game room with friends. She enjoyed many foods, but her favorites were fish, boiled veggies, chicken & dumplings and Fried Oysters. At the time of her passing she was an active member of House of Prayer in Baytown. In earlier years she attended Gospel Temple, Church of God in Christ with Elder Freddy Doughty in La Marque, TX.

DeeDee passed suddenly on December 30, 2022 in Baytown, TX. She will again be with her parents, Horace and Iline, her grandparents, Elmo Walker and Ferris Merrit and her siblings; Beverly Walker, Vincent Walker, Clifton Walker, Horace Walker and Melvin Walker.

She leaves behind many who loved her including her brother, Darrel Walker. She also leaves her son, Stanley Walker and daughters, Tiesha Walker and Krystal Walker. There are a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, extended family and friends that will miss her dearly.
